Single point for me and I use the multi controller to switch points.

Now with 9 cross type sensors, and getting used to using the multi-controller, I am able to quickly change points and get fast + accurate focus consistantly. I also use the AF-ON with my 40D and the * button with the 20D.

WIth the xt there are only 9 focusing points and I often found myself focus and 'twist'.
