I currently have Canon Digital Photo Professional 1.5 on my computer but do not use it. I really have not put the time into learning how it works; I use the EOS viewer utility. Both came with my 20D. However, I read in the current issue of Rangefinder that I can download the upgraded Canon Digital Photo Professional 2.0.3 from www.usa.canon.com (external link). I cannot find this download no matter how hard I search.

Does anyone use this software? If so do you like it? Can you point me in the right direction so I can upgrade?

Thank you in advance for your help.

I use it and find it works great. Just follow the drivers/software link on the page listing your camera to find the update. Make sure pop-ups are allowed as the Canon website is very pop-up crazy.

I'll second that. I've only recently got my first digital camera, so being completely digital is new to me. I found DPP very easy to operate and it seems logical, unlike PS, which can be anything but at times.

Well what do you know? I had to turn off the Firefox pop-up blocker as well as my anti-virus protection in order to allow the canon downloads “pop-up” to be seen. Thank you for your help.

Must have been an old issue of Rangefinder. The current DPP available for download is 3.0. Version 3.1 which shipped with the 40D should be available soon, but it doesn't have any new features. 3.2 which will have a couple new tools should be available at the beginning of next year.

I hope they will add a rotation tool.

The information was in the 2007 Rangefinder buyer’s guide which is attached to the October 2007 issue of Rangefinder. In any case, it is better than the version I had. I played around with it a little last night and it seems to be pretty good. Again—thank you all for your help.

Apparently there will be a rotation tool which will rotate in 0.5 degree steps. This may not be precise enough in some cases.
