I will be shooting a college football game soon. I can easily see shooting 1,200 to 2,000 shots. I realize this means I will need to change out to a new CF card at least once. I am trying to get my CF and SD card paired up as close as possible. I am using an 8gig CF card (shooting RAW) and backing up to a 2gig SD card set at M1. Questions:

1) Do I need a bigger SD card for a closer match? If so, what size?
2) If the SD card fills up does it keep the M2N from firing?
3) What do you pros/semi-pros do? How would you handle the card situation?

Thanks. AF:D

I use 1 and 2 gig cards, on JPEG Large, shooting RAW for me is just takes to much time, I usually D/L at half time, edit, caption and transmit 4-5 pics all in 15-20 mins. Never have used SD cards.

I just shoot to the SD too, like I would the CF. I guess I probably should be backing up. I do for a lot of other shoots.

I normally use of 4gb CF and a 2gb SD. Shoot on the CF and only go to the SD if my CF fills and I don't have time to change. The only time I use both cards is when I have a tight deadline, then I use the SD for jpeg's because I can make a quick edit and then send them to the paper. Other than that I shoot 100% raw.

How exactly do you do that with your XT?

BTW this thread refers to the capability of the 1Dm2 and newer cameras to shoot to both a CF and SD card.
