I'm in need for a bag primarily to carry papers and sometimes a 17" MacBook Pro to meetings. I'll probably use it to carry a camera from time to time but that is a secondary use.

I'm thinking that http://www.tenba.com …messenger-bag-pm-17c.aspx (external link) is probably my best choice possibly http://www.tenba.com …l-20-messenger-large.aspx (external link)

Does anyone have any experience with these bags or have a recommendation for a bag that they feel will better meet my needs?

I don't know about these bags but crumplers will come into picture. You can configure a 7MDH or get a Brazillian dollar home but that gets pretty large. There also the ThinkTank Urban Disguise versions.

Crumpler also makes laptop bags that you could get a separate insert for, when you want to use it as a camera bag as well.

In my opinion as I have stated in all other posts, take a look at the Crumpler Daily XXL. Unfortunately, it's only available in Europe. It is a bag that actually has a laptop compartment which is also the size between a Brazillion and a 7MDH. Perfect size and the compartments are layed out better.

I have been looking for it in the US with no luck but I will triump!! I'll find this sucka!

I was just about to start a thread on the Tenba Prodigital 2.0 Messenger bag, but then I saw this thread.

I looked at the Tenba Prodigital 2.0 Messenger bag today and I almost got it, I wanted to see the reviews here first, but it doesn't seem like a popular model or brand and there is not a lot of info.

But I loved it, I didn't fill it with bodies and lenses, but it did feel great and looked great. The store also had the 7mdh bag (a bag I have been thinking about), but it didn't impress me as that much as the Tenba bag.

Like the 7mdh the Tenba comes in some nice colors, I think I'll get it. :) (or the National Geographic bag)

btw. I should probably mention that the camera divider inset in the Tenba bag is "loose", that might not be a problem for some, I don't know how I would like that in the long run. On the other hand, it also works as a regular messenger bag, when you take it out.

The Dreadful Embarrassment is an awesome bag for $60 off gearx.com. It's really big. I used it as my only bag for a weekend away. Packed in my laptop 14", jeans, 3 shirts, book, external hard drive (2 charger cords and USB), card reader, hygiene products, 2 lenses (didn't know if I wanted them in my Nova), and other little stuff.

Really awesome bag, I've used it for my camera stuff as well which fits nicely with or without and insert. Got my insert from Nanue Pro. Just call or email and ask for what size you like. Mine's from he alpha.

And it's cheaper than Tenba's. They have other sizes as well for sale.

Guys- Forget about using it for holding photo equipment. I've got a Domke F1-x, and a Domke 3x on the way. I'm really looking for a nice quality messenger bag for taking to meetings with papers and a 17" laptop.

I don't care about cost; I am just looking for the bag that will make the best statement for an upcoming event Silicon Valley meeting. This question is more about the bag's image and executive aesthetic than anything else. The cost of the bag is meaningless in the scheme of things.

LoL. Yeah what he said. If Macy's doesn't have it, try JCPenney's.

If you are looking for something professional looking, and business like, do that.

If you just want a really nice bag, go crumpler! :)

I have a "Large Clyde", fits my 17" MBP and books if need be. Sounds like it would fit your purpose: http://www.acmemade.com/theclyde.html (external link)

Something interesting, I thought it would help, but it's just reg bags. Oddly enough, Crumpler is #1.

I swear< i just looked at them but Crumpler seems to win depending on what you get. They have a lot of different stuff, but all I did was type in "nice laptop bags" and "expensive laptop bags" in Google and a lot of the sites featured Crumpler products.

Honestly, I think the Luncheon is one of Crumplers best laptop bags. I'm debating on buying it, but my cheap bag has been good to me. It's solid black so it fakes a more professional look. Still, the Luncheon is thin and long, not wide. There's a nice review online about it. Just google for it. In black, Crumplers look real nice.

I stick with high end dept stores or something at the Mall so you can see it and try it out with the idea of what'll you 'll be wearing.

Somehow camera talk got turned into fashion and how to match your bag with clothing.

Since you nixed the camera, how about this?

http://booqbags.com …53/.f?sc=12&category=-112 (external link)

I use the Vyper exo XL system with sleeve with my 15.4" MacBook Pro when I travel for business. The one in the link is for the 17" macboook pro. They are well made and very durable. When I just come to the office and for everyday use I use the Crumpler Dreadful Embarassment like _aravena posted. Its amazing how much stuff you can fit in that Crumpler. Hope this helps.
