Site loads quite slow for me also (5meg bb) more so than most other blu domain sites hosted the other side of the atlantic that I have visited in the past and when I checked the route to the server there was quite a lot of hops, this is one of the reasons I will host my own if i get one of their site templates.

I really liked some of the images in his wedding portfolio's, but his first few images on his opening page didnt do anything for me and some seemed a strange choice.

Definitely someone who would be worth tagging along with I bet.

Btw, I wouldnt exactly call a new window with no toolbar and no menu a "browser hijack" its just one of those things many flash sites do to ensure the user uses the flash menu to navigate.

By contrast the site opened very quickly for us here, and we're only on 0.5meg BT business broadband (they keep trying to give me 7meg upgrade free, but want a new 12 month contract which I'm not prepared to sign!) ...so just wondering if some of the hops could be down to your ISP Nick?

I really like several of his images, some odd choices and some odd compositions, but overall I liked the impact of the saturated colours.

Possibly down to my ISP Rob (althought its one of the better ones as I use it a lot for my IT job) but also could be down to a number of other things, even just our own perceptions of what fast is..... I used to play a lot of games on the net and ping/latency is king so maybe thats warped my perception a bit :)

Ive worked on virtually every type of connection between 9,600 modems and gigabit ethernet and on 5 meg at home now I have a perception of how fast a site should load which is usually pretty instantly, ive just gone into it again (on a diff pc so no cache) and timed it (after the splash screen) and it actually took 6 seconds for the first image to load and the music started playing a second after that .... which seemed quite slow earlier on but I guess thats not really "slow" for a USA based site. Even with 20 hops to the site theres not that much latency... I guess the music and images are what makes it 6 seconds.

Yeah you're right - my OK is your slow  ...first time loading it took around 6 seconds for us for images to load, but music took a fair while longer.

Glad most of you enjoyed his work. I'll pass along your site comments. I don't think he's trying to get overseas business so the internet speed probably isn't as much an issue as possibly processing power. However I don't really know how intensive Flash is on a CPU though.

When you use a 30" display, as I do, any site which re-sizes the browser window to your whole screen dimensions is very irritating.

It's a pet hate, and any site which does it gets closed.
