Any new L lenses in the pipeline 24-70 IS?

Hi, I have got some money burning a hole in my pocket;) So I'm after a fulfilling my lens line up with a short L lens, I would really like a Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8 L IS but of course this does not exist yet so I will probably end up with a Canon EF 16-35 f/2.8 L II.

My question is what is the chance Canon are going to bring out a Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8 L IS or something similar in the next few months? or alternative suggestion.
