I been researching these two lenses lately.
The 28-70 is cheaper probably b/c its older. Both are VERY similar lenses.

Besides the 4mm difference on wide, what are the other differences in these lenses?
Is there anything that would make one better then the other?

Right now im looking through all these reviews and i even got some reports saying the 28-70 has better contrast...

Can anyone give me some insight?

If you get the 28-70 you might not be able to get it serviced if something happens.

Are you 100% certain or is that just a guess?

Ive had both lenses before pretty recently.

Both are very similar and besides the 4mm difference on the wide end, I dont remember the lenses being all that much different. The only difference that I remember is that they used different hoods.

I had the 28-70L cleaned and serviced before I sold it, so I wouldnt worry about that.

Since the lens is no longer in production, in the future servicing may be difficult.

28-70L is okay, 24-70L is a bit better.

SO many people say the 24-70L is the greatest thing on earth. So i dont imagine the 28-70 being that far off from the reviews i read.

Just wanted to hear some opinions on what would justify paying $400-$500 extra for the 24-70
