I've got an idea for 20D/30D owners who also bought the 40D and complaining the 40D's battery door hinge is made of plastic. Swap doors with your 20D/30D when you're bringing the 40D out to play

I'll ship them a 20D with a genuine metal hinge in exchange for their 40D with the crappy plastic hinge. They get the excellent build quality of an all metal hinge, and I get a 40D.

Plastics manufacturing is quite good and I don't think there is reason to get caught up in the fact that the hinge was changed to plastic. Robert
