this thing is pretty pimp. i wanted something that would hold my laptop & most of the contents of my briefcase, as well as a camera & a few lenses, WITHOUT looking like a typical "camera bag". Now my next step is to find a sweet patch to sew on over the embroidered "Adorama" logo so people don't target me for an actual photographer.

bag is extremely well built, with a sort of "hemp/canvas" feel to it. camera section is very well padded. some more padding beteween the laptop & my back would have been nice, but not necessary. metal rings should have been coated in rubber or made of strong plastic, because they make too much noise.

Wore it for ~30min around the house, and on my 5' 9.875" frame, it was quite comfortable.

pics were taken with my p&s

wii remote for size

two water bottle holders on the side could also be used to hold the lens of a second camera (with it still strapped around your neck)

i don't like how the 'chest strap' isn't removable. it's really long, and there's really nothing to tie it up to. :dunno: Also, the buckle on the other side jingles like santa claus.
IMAGE: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2018/1614809349_f8455be7ac_b.jpg

all of the webbing around the bag is only attached at certain points, so you could really strap just about anything to it
IMAGE: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2053/1614807387_5f14d05fb6_b.jpg

padded laptop sleeve in the back fits my Dell 710 just fine (12" widescreen). Didn't try my 15" sony.

top carries just about whatever you want. i have my laptop power brick, a mouse, and a few other things in here. yes, i still carry the camera book.

bottom half folds up to reveal another set of deeper pockets, perfect for an ipod or filters or whatever
IMAGE: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2064/1615691252_f76e974cae_b.jpg

main compartment holds flash, battery charger, roll of velcro, xti (with 10-22), sony gps gizmo, remote shutter release, stofen, 50mm, and sigma 17-70.
I think i might be able to squeeze another 4.5" out of the center section to fit a 70-200 f2.8, but i'm not positive. I could move the flash to the top of the bag & reconfigure the padding, and then i'm sure it would fit (laying the 70-200 across the bag).

I just bought one too, it's great bag and almost half the price of the National Geograpic one.

couldn't agree more. my only gripe is that it's too easy to "overpack" the bag and make it quite heavy!

my guess is that they contracted with the same manufacturer that NG did. i'm sure NG just branded someone elses bag

can one of you guys with this bag try out your 15.4" laptop if you have one! thanks! i have a 15.4 Vaio that is 14" x 10" for comparisons... thanks! I'd love to find out if it would fit before i ordered one... also how comfortable is it all loaded up with a notebook and everything? does it tweak with your back too much?

My 10" Vaio fits no worries but then it is very small.

I tested it with a 12.5" x 10" HP and that would be the maximum dimentions of any laptop to fit in it.

12.5" is the maximum length the zip will open and 10" in the maximum depth of the slot to fit a laptop in.

I hope this helps.

Yeah...only minor differences between this and my HG bag. I would have went for this one for half the price. This thing does hold alot of stuff......I really like mine and wish I had found this one before the last 4 I have bought and sold on Ebay. I think it is a keeper!!!!!!

It was an obvious knock-off of the National Geographic bag so e-bay, the knock-off center, is probably your best bet.

This where a waist strap comes in handy to transfer some of the load to your hips...it doesn't appear that this pack has one?
