I just wanted to know how everyone carries all of their equipment on wedding days (if you dont have an assistant to do it for you). The only bag i have is the Tamrac Pro 12 and its quite large so i just leave it set in one spot and keep going back to it to get stuff i need. Looking for something i can carry on me and hold my key lenses and cameras. Big application i'm looking for a bag for is an engagement shoot on the beach. i like the lowepro stealth reporter because of the access from the top of the bag without opening it and it's weatherproof zippers to keep the sand out. i just need something that will fit a 5D, 30D, 135 f/2, 17-40, 24-70, and a 580 and 430 flash. that is what i primarily use for engagement photos.

I just use a LowePro computrekker AW if I'm solo. It should be enough for what you are carrying. It even fits a 36" reflector into the laptop compartment!!

thanks, i will check it out! i'm just looking for something to carry what i am immediately shooting with so i dont have to leave stuff lay everywhere and can have quick access to it. i would love to have access without opening the bag like the stealth reporter but its not a must i guess

Ann and I take a Peli 1510 case, and a Lowepro Mini Trekker - in the Mini Trekker we can fit 5D+grip+24-70, 5D+24-105, 550ex flash, spare 20D body, Sigma 12-24mm, ST-E2, Extension Tubes, bunch of Omnibounces and other odds and ends. The Peli carries longer lenses, 2 more bodies, 3 more flashguns, 2nd ST-E2, Sigma Fisheye, 50mm f1.4, spare batteries, remotes, Jobo GIGAone, cables and stuff.

I use the Lowepro Stealth Reporter and I like it a lot. I think it should suit your needs just fine. Mine holds 2 bodies with lenses attached (even the 70-200 2.8 IS), 2 580EX's, a bunch of backup lenses, and whatever else.

Lowpro Nova 5 AW + Tamrac Cyberpac 6

Nova 5 stays on my shoulder all day and carrys the third body, flash guns at the start of the day, spare batteries, reflector, rocket blower, spare lenses etc etc.

Cyberpac 6 stays in the car until the sit down for the wedding breakfast (and also carries the 70-200 to the wedding) and holds the Macbook, printer, mini album and the other assorted bits and pieces we dont use during the day apart from during the sit down.

I think it's the 550, I'll have to look and make sure, maybe I can post a pic tonight. Basically the way I have it configured is in 6 vertical compartments (2x3), so all the lenses are inserted vertically. Cameras with lenses attached are inserted with the lens down and the back of the camera face up. So I can just grab hold of the grip and pull the whole rig out and I'm good to go. I separated some of the vertical compartments into 2, with lesser-used lenses on the bottom, and more frequently used lenses on top. One compartment holds my kit lens at the bottom, then a separator, and my 2 580EX's on top of that. The quality of the bag seems top notch (and should be for $150). The shoulder strap is excellent and makes the bag comfortable to carry. It also has a laptop compartment that I don't use. It is a pretty big bag though but they make it in various sizes smaller than the 550, so just pick the size that's right for you.

I was looking at the stealth reporter D200 because i sell it at work and i can get it at a really good price (about $70) but i put our display model 5D with 24-105 and 40D with 28-135 in there and it doesn't seem like it will fit good. it would probably work GREAT for lenses and flashes if i didn't want to put the bodies in there though.

My setup is really close to Kim's. I use a Lowepro Pro Roller 1 as my primary bag--depending on what I'm carrying, it will hold 2-3 bodies (2 gripped) (no lenses attached), plus 6 lenses, 4 flashes, and all sorts of other stuff. Most of this is carried to weddings as backup in case of failure, and the Roller is locked to a permanently mounted object somewhere in the facility. What I'm actually using generally either goes on me with straps or into the Shootsac. My assistant (usually my husband) holds the second body in use or in reserve, except during the ceremony, where I keep both on me, one with the 17-55, one with the 70-200.

For more "minimal" shoots or places a roller can't go, I take the Lowepro Stealth Reporter D400. I can fit 2 gripped bodies, attached to lenses, two additional lenses, and 2 flashes in there, plus extra batteries, and a few other toys. I still end up tethering it somewhere using a small PacSafe & carrying just what I need in the Shootsac though.

For engagements/senior portraits, it's just the Shootsac. I carry one body & husband carries the other, with maybe 3 lenses & one flash between us. That's a much more fun way to shoot, but I really can't bring myself not to bring absolutely everything along as insurance for weddings.

LowePro Rolling mini trekker - fits all my gear. It's either very close to me or locked up in the car. During the day I keep two cameras on me, I have OpTech pro loop straps with detachable straps, I only use the tiny strap stub and put it over my shoulder - it just fits and nothing swings around too much :)
