IMAGE NOT FOUND

Shot using Canon Eos 20D set on "P". Speedlite 580 on ETTL II, ISO 100, Eos 28mm - 300mm L IS



What am I doing wrong?
Why is it so dark?
Why is it not "pin sharp"?

Please help, I'm tearing my hair out here. :o:o:o

Looking at your EXIF, I see your camera was using partial metering. So it may have metered off the white dress, and in order to not blow out the dress it underexposed the whole image.

That's my guess anyway. Next time try evaluative metering, or bump your EC up a bit.

edit-by the way, I played with it in Photoshop and a bit of levels and curves cleans it up pretty good.

If you use partial metering you need exposure compensation of about 1.5 stops as you metered off the white dress. I don't like evaluative metering, you never know what it's going to decide to meter.

Also the reason your first image post didn't work is because the image is on your hard drive, you have to put it on the internet (ie the attachment or on a web server) if you want others to see it!
