Searched awhile and didn't see anything on this but I imagine everyone will direct me to all the threads on it now.

A few days ago I took some shots of a car wreck after dark. The power was out so it was pitch black. After taking the first shot I looked at the rear LCD to chimp, or I mean to check the histogram, and there was nothing showing on the screen. Thought I was crazy since it was the middle of the night and I had previously been asleep so after a few more shots went back to sleep. Checked it out better thew next day. If I look close enough in the right light and at the right angle it looks like something is showing in the LCD but not lit up. No picture review, histogram or menus showing. Now I start messing with the on/off switch and I can get things to show up by pressing the switch certain ways. So I guess there is a lose connection somehow with the on/off switch. Tomorrow I will take it to a local camera shop in a neighboring town. Hope they can fix it and don't have to send it off to Canon. Anyone have a similar issue to this?

No I've been messing with it about a million times in the last few days and and have to mess with the switch to get anything on the rear lcd.

Well dropped it off at the camera shop yesterday evening. Talked with store expert, he does their in house repairs, he hasn't seen anything similar before. He phoned his connection in California and he said it sounded like a connection on a circuit board. It's being shipped off and I'm feeling lonely now. Might have to buy a roll of, what's that stuff called again, oh yeah, film.
