Get the lens. I skipped 40d and got the 135 f/2L instead. It will make a nice companion to my 400d.

Using: Canon 70d, Canon 50d, 135 2 USM L, 50 1.8, Sigma 10 2.8 HSM EX fisheye, Sigma 180 2.8 AP✿ macr✿, Sigma 18-35 1.8 ART, Nikon D5500

Which is limiting you more? What can't you do that you want to? Answer that for yourself and you'll know which you need first.

Just an update, I've decided to go for the 40D first. I'm really unhappy with the 350D and seems to be my limiting factor. Going to order Monday or Tuesday. Thanks for the input. Will post some pics once I get it! :D

You answered your own question in your first post when you said you were happy with your lenses but not the 350D.
The 40D is a better camera in all respects so I'm sure you will be happy with the upgrade.

Let's do some of the math too.

Sell:
XT - $400
28-105 (you've got the length covered with your kit) - $100
75-300 - $100

Saved: $1000 + sold items = $1600.

You've got enough for the 40D plus $300 extra to save. So you've got your kit lens and nifty fifty for your 40D.

Actually, when I look at the numbers, you're better off saving more money so that you have enough to sell all your items and buy the 40D and 70-200 IS at the same time.

I do want to sell my 75-300 but I really like the 28-105. It's a great walk around lens for me. I'll keep the 350D as a secondary, could come in handy if something happens to the 40D during an assignment.

I got the 75-300 mainly for the focal length... it really is a ****ty lens though. Anyone interested in the 75-300? ;)
