Almost. I figure that guy's been doing it for a lot longer than I have and with higher grade Hassy gear. I do the best with what I got. It ain't much, and the shots aren't all that swell, but I have fun with it. ;)

Hassy? That piddly stuff? He is shooting Large format, that stuff is AMAZING. mmm 8x10" of pure sexy photo absorbent silver crystals mmmmmmmmmmm

I know what you mean, I am not 100% sound on my choice. I am not to sure if I would submit it.

I would like a bird photo but don't have anything :(

you know, one of the reasons I went ahead and just submitted? Because the longer I looked at the 5 I was going to submit, the less I liked them...I found flaws with every photo I looked at today and it started to get me down. SO I just submitted the ones that I'd picked and decided to let it go at that....

perhaps we're our own worst critic...I don't know.

That was film... 8x10 film to be exact :-D

okay but I STILL WANT A NEW HASSY...(really, I was just going off on owning a hassy). though I'm surprised that's film because it's obvious he did some tonemapping on those shots...

Can you imagine what just one shot would cost? Forget it. Gimme a 4 gig card....

I dunno, I think it is more grads and color filters... I guess it could be tonemapping, but part of me hopes that it isn't I dunno way, I just want to believe that is capable with film.

I think it is close to a $1.50 last time I checked.

Yeah - something tells me that when you shoot with gear like that you don't go "down" to the level of tone mapping...

I think your right. the longer I look at a photo the worse it gets... that's why I have closed PS down for the day and give it a break.

Oh. Well, that's different.

Still, being lazy, I think I'll stick with my 30D.

see, I disagree...tone mapping (used skillfully...which is something that really does take practice) is the digital equivalent of those shots, without the cost and without the hassle of film. So I don't see it as going down a level. I see it as the present age technology. Of course, most of the time it's badly done (including by myself but I'm working on it)!

Okay......so I just threw a couple of photos into the POTN Book pile. I didn't give them much thought and won't worry if they don't get selected.

I just thought it would be fun to paticipate a bit.

Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.
