It isn't so much softness, as rendering details differently, it isn't a big deal, I think the problem in some of my shots was there was some grass in the way :o

So what are you thinking of the 300? I love mine...but I think I've mentioned that.

These next three seem to have something wrong with them... I can't figure it out. At first I thought it was IS or shutter speed, but one is 1/2000 I can't figure it out.

Nice Birdies, Riley. Clearly he was stunned when he saw the lens. The camo must have done a great job hiding you.

I didn't even know you used an 8gb...do you like it? Is it fast?

if it's any consolation, I pulled a Belmondo too...I have left the cap for my tc somewhere...none of the other caps will fit it either...sigh.

I love it for the 5D. It is quite fast and holds a ton.

I've now been relegated to the 4GB.

Just bought a new 4GB Extreme at Best Buy. I'm hoping it turns up somewhere.

I still have your flash diffuser. It worked like a charm at the wedding. I need to get one. Thanks very much for letting me use it.

Photographs are records of life. Pity they don't make music when you put them in a record player. :p

I'm another vote for culling before backing up. I don't see much sense in having an extra copy of a shot I would only be deleting again, anyhow.

I know that adds a step for those who use a downloader that imports from a card and backs up at the same time, but I take enough crap shots that I don't need a backup of them.

In reality, my process is to download from a card and make a copy to a second hard drive as soon as possible (typically laptop to desktop). Then I do my culling/rating/keywording and synch up the two hard drives again. During the synch, any files I deleted from one machine get deleted from the second. It's at that point that I worry about a backup to an external drive dedicated to backups and to disc.

Yes, this is what I have decided, backup on import and then sync the drives via a daily backup. That way you are always covered with a 2nd copy of files :).

Thanks for the opinion :)
