Both versions look pretty good at small size. The second one is a keeper in my book.

thanks Wool. I zoomed it large and it seems okay in version 2 (the first one is just a big white spot and it really draws my eye right there when it's bigger).

Permie appears to be on strike.

I didn't know you were in the Army Riley...

Thats my grandfather, people say he looks a lot like me. Especially when he was younger. I should find the picture we have that looks almost exactly like me, it is kinda scary, as if I was standing next to a jeep in 1944.

I was going to guess Grandpa. Yes, you bear a striking resemblance to him.

okay, I really need an opinion. I have ONE photo of this scene (well, only one that doesn't have Ed doing something silly in it) but I blew out the highlights in the water (it was so dark there that most of the shots were blurry from too bad shutter speed). Anyway, I attempted to dodge the center water blowouts. Does this work (I'll post a before and after) or is the shot a goner

after

I do not think blowing out flowing water is a big deal, I mean how much detail is there to begin with. I think they look fine. Maybe a tri-pod and the old 1 second shutter to make the water silky smooth
