Wow, I didn't know they were even still around...

I bought a Mannheim Steamroller CD a few years ago, but I was real disappointed with it. I think I was expecting it to be more like C. W. McCall, since Bill Fries recorded the album with them, but it was just a collection of very gung-ho, "America is the greatest", chest thumping patriotic songs, and that got very old, very fast. I don't think I ever even listened to it a second time.

We have three or four of their CDs - some of their songs are bland, but they have some awesome songs as well. Plus I hear they put on a great show.

Mooorning!

Their Christmas shows have always been pretty good. According to all the reviews...Lonnie wasn't the only one that thought the 4th of July album was a stinker...

You're not kidding. I like this quote from the first review listed on the Amazon.com page (external link) for the CD:

In fact, at times it can be so overwhelmingly patriotic, you'll find yourself gagging over the American flag that's being shoved down your throat.

Funny thing, though. The reviewer gave it four out of five stars. He said he hated it the first time, but it grew on him as he listened to it more. Maybe I should give it another listen...

My name is Lonnie, but I answer to Thomas too.

Love the kitty shot, Dan. But I am not a cat lover so I am glad he's yours and not mine.

I'm with you on that one, Mo. We have allergies that come into play, too.
