We're totally socked in. You can barely see across the street here.

right now it's lifted to just above the houses here, but we're near the river...I haven't ventured out today thus far (an hour ago, I couldn't see our firepit in the back yard ) so...still, it'd be nice to test this out.

Lasagna is something I feel everyone knows, but I am doing something VERY wrong. Mine gets hard. :s :(

Do you cook the pasta first? You have to cook it slightly and let it dry before setting it in your dish...

TOMMY!! OH GOSH, I've been playing with the AF...it really is different (IN A GOOD WAY). I did some limited testing on one shot and am thrilled with that....snaps right to so far, except in a shadowy spot where it couldn't find contrast..I moved it about an inch (still in shadows) and it snapped right to focus. As for shooting at 10fps, it's NOT leaving my subject. I still get a couple of oof shots in that 10fps (but I'm assuming that that is the sub-mirror thing) but it stays with my bird even when another bird flew in RIGHT BEHIND it...niiiice.

lol!! I'm glad you reminded me. I have one I need to charge (that I hadn't needed to charge...been using it since Aug. and it just ran out when we were shooting bridges over the weekend).

I just had to show you this...

mind you it was at 1/500, iso 3200, 420mm and THROUGH my big window but...

(and I have the whole sequence before and after the behind bird arrived...at 10fps...the AF never left the bird in the foreground)

these are unprocessed, ROF and aiservo

edit: again, this is with terrible lighting and through a window but my gosh the AF is more responsive.

it does...if nothing else, it handles very differently. I'm about to add the shot after the other bird landed, to that post...

lol...sorry Dom. I just wanted Tommy to see what I was talking about. We've both had the issue where the background drew the AF away from our birds and so it's extremely promising that even action immediately behind the subject did not draw it away.
