Here is one you don't see photos of posted very much. These guys are getting hammered by west nile virus so I figured I'd better get a shot of one before they are all gone

Chuck

I have the black billed version here. A lot of people don't like them, but I think they are smart and beautiful. :)

I am yet to see one in North America.
Common bird in Asia or part of Europe.
A very interesting bird with high moral family. It mates once and for life time. If a mate dies young the poor guy will never meet another bird. May be there is a reason they don't exist here:)

Beautiful shot, except for the tail chop. Bird deaths from West Nile was in our news here this summer too. It's becoming a real problem, as if Avian Flu and humans crudding up the planet weren't bad enough.

Such a cool looking and intelligent bird... West Nile Virus is just starting to make it's way up here as well, the first WNV positive case was confirmed last month.:(

What a pretty looking bird, far different to our Aussie magpies. I agree that they're wonderful birds, highly intelligent, and when they get to know you, quite trusting and friendly I might add.

Samsen - I thought most birds mated for life?

For a fact I know that roosters have a Haram all the time. Peacocks pay attention to anyone in surrounding, Canaries mate with whomever you put in their cage, parakeets don't mine to kiss whoever in seating next to them, same or opposite sex (I guess they are from Massachusetts) and the list goes on and on.

BTW fortunately or unfortunately I just understood that by your logic, I am bird:)

Is that Heckle or Jeckle? Probably before your time. Anyway, really cool capture. --Rick
