Hi guys

I'm having hard time to decide which wide angle lens to buy?
1. Canon EFS 10-22
2. Sigma 10-20
3. Tokina 12-24

Which one will you buy? and why?

I have a novel idea - read the tests done by someone who has done a rigorous test on all three.;);)

And don't forget to assess your own needs for focal length. We all have different requirements.

I've owned the 10-22 when I had the 30D and it's a wonderful lens if you can shell out the money for it. The Sigma I hear is pretty good and I'm not too sure about the Tokina. I tend to stick to Canon glass mostly but, it really is up to you to decide that.

I want the 14mm mk2
why - because I often find the 17 not quite wide enough (FF);)

Hey

If you are willing to pay for an L series that would be better because of IQ and how the feel of the lens would be. I would suggest the EF 17-40 f/4.0L

Cheers

The 17-40 gives no better IQ than the 10-22 and I owned both. They are just totally different ranges.

I prefer the 10-22 as I shoot wide.

14mm II L

EDIT: Not sure, due to cost/flexibility difference w/16-35 II and which body it gets used on. Likely path is 16-35 + 5D and selling the 30Ds + EF-S glass to fund part of it.

If you're on a crop I'd go for the Sigma 10-20, I have it and love it. Much cheaper then the 10-22 (which isn't that much better optically, from the reviews I've seen), the Sigma 10-20 is an EX so its built rock solid, and it comes with a lens hood (which the 10-22 doesn't), which is really needed for this lens.

One day I'll get the Canon. But not yet as the 17-55 is meeting my needs so far.

Way too much barrel on the Wigma, so I'm saving for the Canon.

For this ^^^ reason, I went with the 14mm tamron f2.8 because none of the polled lenses work on the M3 and the canon 14mm is too pricey for the little I use it. Usually 17mm works for me but sometimes not.
