I just moved here, to Gjøvik about a month ago. I'm hoping to find a local club that knows of some good locations, and can offer some tips.

I live just 43km north of you, in Lillehammer. You don't need a club to find locations here, but Gjøvik is no good for scenery.
If you have a car go to Lillehammer and further north.

I've gone to Lillehammer just a few times now. Some of my coworkers live there. I've been as far north as the bobsled track. I haven't ventured much more though as I figure I can see a lot more this spring, and not worry about snow in the mountains. Is that a Cosworth in your avatar? I'm trying to decide what kind of car I want (still not sure what a reasonable budget is for me yet either though).

I'd be up for a meet up. I'd be willing to drive to Oslo or Drammen for it, if it were on the weekend. There's more people from Norway, just not many that have responded to this thread.

Another Oslonian here. I can't believe there aren't more of us here on POTN, Norway's got a decent photographers' community.

Hey, more from Norway here :) I have also lived in Lillehammer for many years ago. Living now in Oslo and my interest in photography has varied little over the years, is now upward.

I am not a photographer, interest is great and I can only get better!

Since my last post I´ve started a meetup group called Foto Kaffe in Oslo, we are around 20 photographers with different experience that meet up once a month now. More info about the meets at www.fotokaffe.com (external link).

Also Strobist Norway has started to meet. First meetup was last Thursday, more info on the next meetup @ Strobist Norway flickr group (external link).

Hope you all find this useful :)

Aww, we should get something similar going here in Trondheim. Do you know any others Helena? I thought about getting people together to shoot fireworks in the city at new year's eve. Interested?

Hi Jonta! Nice to see I'm not the only one from Trondheim at POTN. :)

There is a group of people that tries to meet the first Saturday every month to do some shooting together. I joined them for the first time this month and thought it was really nice. This time we simply walked around in town to capture the "Christmas feeling". We were 12 or 13 people, mixed ages, mixed camera brands and three were women. It's very informal.

You find us here:

There are no plans for new year's eve, and I will be in Sweden visiting family, but post a note at the Norwegian forum and maybe someone is interested to join you!

God dag, alle sammen! Jeg kommer til å bli i Oslo i januar og februar.

Good day. I'll be visiting Oslo with my wife for a couple of months this Winter and will be looking for photography and conversation partners in the area. I'm presently working through a self-study language program and plan to learn as much Norsk language and culture as possible for an old guy with a passion for cultural immersion. I hope to do a little bit of travel to the surrounding areas and up to Lillehammer, so perhaps we'll run into each other somewhere along the way.

Ser frem til å høre fra deg.
