I'm trying to make a 4x6 aspect crop in a 6x4 image, in effect taking a portrait crop from a photo shot in landscape.

I can't seem to get Lightroom to constrain to the opposite rotational aspect. anyone run into this and/or know how to work around it?

When you turn the crop tool on there is a Aspect option next to it. Click here and select the ratio you want, this should do the trick.

oht, think I got it...
you grab one of the corners (to resize, not rotate) and draw the selection in until that rotated aspect you're after will actually fit in the image. then drag the selection corner toward the direction you'd like to rotate your selection. sounds really confusing, but the selection will snap rotate. happens accidentally sometimes, which is how I stumbled upon it.

To change the crop ratio of any image in Photoshop Lightroom activate Crop Tool, click (to resize, not to rotate) on the bottom right corner (for example) of the image and “draw” the tool (“cursor”) towards (and slightly out) the opposite end (along the longer side of the image) until the crop selection rotates. After getting the crop selection change its position just make adjustments that you usually do when cropping images in their original positions.

I admit that doesn't seem to be a very intuitive solution on Adobe LR's part...

while in the crop tool, press X. The crop aspect goes form l'scape to portrait.
