Hi Guys,
Please bear with me as your help will be appreciated :)

I have recentley decided to take up this photography game for relaxation.
I have today treated myself to a used Canon EOS 30D & on first impressions I more than happy with the purchase.

The problem I have is......
I have no software or drivers with the camera & I'm looking to obtain it please.
I've been on the Canon UK & USA websites for the software but I have had no success finding the program, all I can find are the updates.

Can you good people point me in the right direction where I might be able to download it or purchase it?

Regards,
Mike

What do you mean, no luck?
- Are the links not working for you?
- Are you unsure what to do when you get to the page that's linked?
- Are you unable to locate the right software?
- Are you unable to download it?
We're not mind-readers, you know...

If whoever you got the camera from does not have the Canon software disk, you will most probably have to get third party software. You might be able to approach Canon for the full file as you have the camera. I don't know what their policy is in this situation.

There are other choices for processing software - mostly at a cost . Eg Adobe Elements, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom all come to mind, but there are other options as well that other people here might use.

Hi Stewart,
I'm unable to locate the right software (Canon Digital Photo Professional) I can only locate & download the "Updater" for this program.
It's the program I'm after to start with.
Your help is appreciated.
Mike

The full version of DPP is unfortunately not available for download as far as I know. Canon ships the full program only with the camera.

What kind of computer do you have? PC or Macintosh?

If a PC, you might take a look at Raw Therapee: http://www.rawtherapee.com (external link).

There are two ways to get the Canon software. The first involves adding a key to your registry. The instructions are here:
http://freeweb.siol.net …foto/eos/eos_software.htm (external link)
The second is to download a copy of DPP 1.0 that will install with no problem and then to update it to the current vs. 3.0. See this POTN thread:
