I tried searching the forum for this but couldn't figure out what to search for. On a 350D is there any way to make the settings in the Viewfinder display for a longer amount of time? I find that it disappears too quickly while I am setting up a shot or trying to meter my palm. Just to be clear, I'm talking about the green Aperture, SS, and meter that appear on the bottom of the viewfinder.
TIA!

Do you ever wish it was, or is it just me because I'm a noob and need extra time to process the info?

If you shoot in Manual mode, those displays stay all the time.

I remember on some EOS film cameras you could change the display time from 6 seconds to only when the shutter button was pressed half way. I don't know if the 350D has this feature or not, let alone any digital EOS.

On my 350D, the meter readings remain visible in the viewfinder for 4 seconds after I let go of the shutter button. So if I want to see them for longer than 4 seconds I hold the button half-pressed. Or touch it again. It's not really a big deal...

Agreed that it's not the biggest deal, it just doesn't seem like it would be a big deal to allow customization of this either, though. Well, anyways, at least now I know the answer. Thanks again POTN, you know your stuff!

(I'm on my way to Manual mode, so hopefully this will soon be a moot point!):p

Thanks everyone!
