Need help with how to do a VERTICAL pano, like with a foreground and stars, how to in CS5? can i still use photomerge? if I need a certain setting? or how to do it manually?

Aloha! CS5 Photomerge will handle the panoramic no matter the orientation as long as there is sufficient overlap. What it will do first is rotate the individual images so that it can create a horizontal panoramic. Once the stitching is complete, you will have to rotate the image 90 degrees (either CW or CCW depending on the orientation of the original images).

You can always do it manually, but I suggest still using Photomerge to align the images first (turning off "Blend Layers" will do this, then you can manually blend if you want afterwards).

Greetings all,

I took this panorama yesterday morning, looking East from the harbour in Dun Laoghaire, just outside Dublin. All in all I took about 20 panorama's, but only two or three had that sought after golden colour of a sunrise.

Greetings all again,

This is another panoramic from Sunday morning. I located myself closer to the shore and so got a better angle on the mouth of the harbor, with better foreground detail. The sun had risen higher than my previous posting and so I lost those reflections on the underside of the clouds. All worth it though!!
