Nice start! If you are looking for any advice, I would recommend stepping to the left a little and making the trees take up the majority of the shot by pointing more to the right. While still standing in or over the water. 2/3 trees, 1/3 open glades. :D

Hand held 2 shot from Pentax Optio 50 compact, after a nice long ride up, half way into the village of St Cirq LaPopie, France.

The lens is a Sigma DC 18-50mm 2.8. Setting is aperture priority, don't remember the exact values.

Printer paper typically is 100+ feet long. However, it's only 4 feet wide. I think he/she should be fine :)

Rob, very cool shot! I would personally add some contrast to the upper 1/3 and a tad of saturation. Everything else is stellar, well done!
