Would it be crass of me to ask how one manages to take these shots? I'm guessing you were using the Samyang? Or what's most important when doing astrophotgraphy?

Yep the Samyang + canon 6D, I have a basic set of settings I use very time (ISO 10,000, ƒ3.4 and 20 seconds). The tricky part is the stitching of multiple images, have a look at the link I provided on a previous post :)

They are just the same as making a landscape panorama during the day, just longer exposures :) Most of mine are out in pitch dark, except when the moon is out.
