If the stories are true this is the last remaining of a row of bars, tea rooms, honky-tonks and brothels on that side of the bayou. Different laws on that side. The others were destroyed by floods in the 1800s.

Yes I did wonder about its vulnerability to floods and guessed they mustn't happen there.

Caddo Lake was my late sister in-law's favorite place in the world. The last time we saw her, she wanted to go so badly, but she didn't have the strength. Thanks for the photo. It brought back some great memories.
