Recognized that shot as soon as I saw it, have been there several times. Did you get any shots of the mosaic maps showing progression of WW II?

It's a very moving place to wander.
Those mosaics are very well done, as is the whole of the cemetery and memorial.

This is wonderful. I don't think I've ever seen a photo from South Georgia before. Do you have any more? Interesting name for the town - I guess a Scot landed there first!

Thank you. It was indeed named after the town in the Orkneys off the north of Scotland, also once a whaling port. It was the final destination of Shackleton’s epic rescue journey. I have no more panoramas of South Georgia, but have posted some in the gaggles and flocks thread.
