I know its not technically the greatest. And it was actually taken with a p&s (IXUS 700 i believe) on fully automatic (i knew nothing about cameras at the time...). But ever since I took it (Nov 2006) its been one of my favourite shots. I've always regretted that i only got an SLR after i went to iceland...

For those who are interested- this is Mýrdalsjökull ice cap in southern iceland. It covers the volcano Katla, which is the 'big sister' of the icelandic volcano that erupted and caused all the havoc to air travel at easter...and is thought fairly likely to erupt soon as a result.

Here's a 3-picture stitch I did of the Chicago Skyline at night using a Tamron 17-50 @ 50mm. The photo is WAY too big to embed in this thread, but you can view it full size by clicking this link:

this is really my first pano attempt. All shot portrait and handheld. Gear was a 1DM2 and 17-40. This was stitched using the Canon software, 8 shots I believe. Had to do some work since I still saw slight exposure issues at the stitch. Wondering how to avoid that as they were all shot manual and nothing was tweaked until they were already stitched.

3 original images. Taken on St John, with Trunk Bay on the right, Mary Point right center and Jost Van Dyke in the distance

Colin, this really takes me back to my honeymoon back in 1992. I remember snorkeling that spot on a whim then picking up some hitchhikers on the way back to Caneel. Thanks for sharing this and the inadvertent nostalgia!

What Canon SW are you talking about?

Try Hugin. It's free does a great job of matching exposure in most cases.
