When I first got my 40d I thought is was underexposing. But when I tested it by shooting something neutral gray, the histogram was right in the middle.

TheGreatDivorce Senior Member 811 posts Joined Apr 2007 More info | Oct 20, 2007 20:54 | #3 Depends how you want to expose what you're shooting. I usually overexpose by 1/3 - 1 full stop (in RAW). Mostly because most cameras try and make skin and white objects neutral grey, which I don't want.
