As some of you know, I was debating as whether to get a 40D or a 5D to replace my old XT. Well, after much thought, I decided on the 40D. Not only will it work best with my current lens lineup, but its FPS will help immensely for the sports and action that I shoot occasionally (I honestly LOVE the 1.6x crop factor; makes my 70-200 a beast to be reckoned with).

Now all I have to do is wait for the 5D's successor to rear its beautiful face, and then my kit will be complete!

I'll post pics ASAP (I will be receiving the camera on Wednesday) so everyone can see the brilliance of a properly affected 40D!

Gongrats, man... I agree with the XT being a bit on the slow side. Sometimes shooting my kids requires panning, LOL! The 40d is a beauty - enjoy!

Congrats. The 5D is too slow for action..IMO. You made the wise choice. I was debating on another 5D vs. 40D. Since I own a 1D Mark III, I went the 40D route for a backup body. Had a 5D in past and sold it. Hated selling it, but I needed the FPS.

Yeah, it'll be nice to have an action-oriented camera for once. And besides, if I did pick up the 5D, I'd have to simultaneously pick up the 85L as well...And I don't have either the money to do so nor the will power not to :p So the 40D seemed to be the better choice all around!
