Yes, reef... some sharpening is always needed to regain detail loss when you resize for the web.

Just something you may want to take into consideration. The 5d is a superior camera and everyone here will probably agree that if everyone had the money the 5d would definitely be the first option to get. Unfortunately, you are either very serious with photography and invest in the 5D or have lots of money to get one without thinking twice.

However, for all others who don't quite have the funds to drop, glass will probably comes first. Consider the XXD cameras and get GOOD glass and hopefully, as you learn with your current camera with good glass, you will probably have enough dough saved up for a 5d or better yet 6d which is probably coming soon...within a year perhaps.

I currently own the 30D and if I were to upgrade (while STILL keeping the 30D) I would get the 5D. I like the 30D for the crop factor in certain situations (wildlife, sports, macro, etc.), but for portraits the full frame of the 5D (or successor) is better. Better if you have the proper lenses, which it seems you do.

I made a point of only buying one EF-S lens, the 17-85 IS USM, with my camera. Everything else I own will work with the full frame. The focal length I would be lacking would be the wide area 10-24mm range.

I have been thinking of buying the 5D, but have been waiting to see what happens if the 5DII or 6D or whatever comes out. I probably couldn't afford it, but I'd like to see my options.

Regardless, I wouldn't sell the 30D to accommodate the purchase of a full frame camera. Both formats compliment each other and create a wider use for photography.

Just my perspective.
