The N has a larger lcd, can save jpegs & raw files to different cards, and has some "picture modes" for jpegs. Other than that they are the same.

I believe the memory frame buffer is bigger on the N version as well.

I made the same decision, except I actually had to go with the mkII. No mkIII for me until at least 2010, if not later.

To OP, you'll enjoy either camera equally, I'm sure. Save yourself some money and get the mkII if you want, but in addition to the few upgraded features, most mkIIN's will be newer, have lower shutter counts, and will *maybe* hold their resale value a bit more. I got a fantastic deal on my mkII, which is why I went with it.

Notice there's an in-depth review for the Mark II but not the Mark II N. That should tell you something - the II N isn't sufficiently different to warrant a separate review.

Notice the buffer is the same too.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

I agree, other than larger LCD, everything else looks pretty much the same.

I am surprised that still there is no in depth review for 40D!

Hermeto - it should come soon, it seems DPReview have got the body as there's a more detailed hands-on preview with it than for example the 1Ds III preview.
Or at least will get it soon. :-P
Waiting for them to do the 1D3 review.... maybe they're waiting for the submirror fix...

i'm sure once they have a confirmed working 1dIII there'll be a review and a notice to state the fix available.

Which is interesting because here (in the Model Line History table)

It's different. I wonder which is right?

Isn't that what it says?

I'm rather happy that I went with the IIN, I did so mostly because I wanted a new camera-- I got it weeks before they were totally gone from the market :).
