They just seem so violent in the movies and video games. People flying through the air after getting shot, and blood squirting everywhere and all. Not to mention they just seem so loud and frightening. Projectiles moving at such high velocity = scary. :(

Movies are just that. Movies. Most of them have no basis in reality when dealing with firearms.

Okay. Back to the topic of photos.

Mark.

Real guns scare me so much. :( Are they really as loud as they are in the movies? I can't imagine using such a thing. The gun in number two is only a toy right?

You're one funny guy....

You don't need a license to own full auto / Short barreld rifles / supressors in most States. You do have to jump thru a lot of "hoops" though. You have to pay a $200 tax on each item, you have to submitt finger prints and photos, and a sign off from the local cheif law enforcement officer, to the BATFE and get an approved tax stamp.

I was really scratching my head at his posts in this thread. I figured I either hadn't had enough coffee or he had hit his head really hard. :p

Not sure why he did that. Perhaps he will chime in.

I used to wear a patch on my right shoulder too...

But regardless of where and how often you see it, or even how used you get to it he is right. Projectiles moving at such high velocity, be they coming towards you (or even from behind you for that matter) are scary. As my military underwear will attest :-)

As far as flying throug the air goes, it's impossible. Think of one of the basic laws of physics. "For every action, there is an equal and opposit reaction". If you had a gun that could knock someone end over end, it would do the same to the person pulling the trigger.

If you ever make it to Michigan I'll see what I can do about getting you some trigger time. We'll start with my 10 year old's guns and work our way up to the evil black rifles. It'll be fun!:D

Its interesting to see all those fully auto, semi-autos etc. The only guns you're likely to see here outside the military are shotguns and rifles (unless your in one of those inner city gangs the daily mail tells us about every day). Even the rifles are all bolt action! Apart from a single action shotgun and a .22, its basically impossible to get any sort of gun :(...

Although I guess I can understand the law, shooting is quite fun :D...

That is not strictly true, if you have a need then you can own rifles of different calibres I have several ranging from a .17 HMR to a .243 and a couple are fitted with moderators (silencers) which have to be specified on your licence.

You can not own handguns, or automatic weapons in the UK and the Police visit me regularly to check on my gun safe and ammunition, but we have an excellent record of safety and behaviour within the legally held weapons community in the UK is is just the thugs with the illegally held weapons that cause the problems.
