I have 400D with me every day at the university. Carrying it around in a large camera bag is not so bad, since i can usually squeeze everything else worth of carrying in the camera bag as well.

The only concern is that i also bicycle with the bag every day. That makes me worry what happens, if i crash into something (forget about my head, will the camera be alright? ;)).

I don't take mine when I am just going into town to get something, but I do take it with me a lot. Most times it is left in my car until I decide I wanna take a picture.

If all I had was an SLR then I'd probably tend to keep it and maybe a couple lensesand a flash in the car. But, since my 6mp pocket camera takes decent quality snapshots, well, I can capture those moments and work to make something of it.
