Here's a shot of a breakdancing group called Concrete Styles, doing their thing on Yonge & Dundas square in downtown Toronto. Any comments & critiques are very much appreciated!! I'm here to learn! :)

Nice flash shot. I would straighten it out though. Kind of strange looking being on an angle. Shame his hand is in front of his mouth. Other wise a great capture.

Thanks for the comments! The original was actually straight. I just thought this angle would make it a little more interesting... But I'll definitely try processing the original straight version to see which one I like best.

I like the angle since it gives the performer a vertical line. I know that others will disagree, based on previous discussions about tilted photos.

Thanks for the comment, Shawn! What I tried to achieve was sort of to give the viewers a hint of the dancer's perception of the world, as it goes around him at various angles. If the subject wasn't a breakdancer, I would probably have kept the angles more conservative, but I think given this particular scene - it adds a little something. :)

Anyone else have an opinion on the angle, or anything that could be improved in the shot?

If it's a "group" why aren't there more dancers?

Well they were never dancing together at the same time... It was more of one member dancing at a time while the others cheered him on.

Oh, this isn't square dancing-like, eh? Couldn't you shoot them one at a time? :-)

Not quite like square dancing... ;)
And I did shoot them one at a time. This was just the shot that I thought was one of the best.

Cool shot.

As an aside, that HRC, in the background, has what's probably the worst food of all HRC's.

And, hey... COOL SHOT!

They're still there?

I saw them last summer and they were pretty cool. A-la naked cowboy of toronto.

I like the framing and the cafe in the background. It works.

Yea, well I guess the fact that it's supposedly "North America's First HRC" is supposed to make up for that...
