I normally shoot macros with manual focus because the autofocus just isn't reliable. But your 40D's live view is the ideal way to focus macros, I'd think. Have you tried it? -js I have the 28-135. How much is is the 60mm f/2.8 macro? Also what would be a good portrait lens for about $350 to $400?
