40D and PS CS3

I'm kind of new to Photoshop as of last year. I purchased CS2 and have been getting used to using it. Now I just purchased a 40D and CS2 couldn't read the RAW files so I upgraded to CS3, but it won't read the files either.

Am I just being dumb? How are people reading their RAW files from a 40D?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
