I have the 30D with a few batteries and will be traveling next week. My buddy has an old Digital Rebel. Now as I recall sense I'm the one that sold it to him I thought it had a different BP511. One was NiCad and the other was something else. I'm just wondering if there will be a problem with me borrowing his charger and charging the BP511's from my 30D with it. The 300D/digital rebel had an LiIon battery Professional wedding photographer, solution architect and general technical guy with multiple Amazon Web Services certifications.

I just repeated what I saw in a magazine article just today that made that claim...I guess one shouldn't believe everything one reads... Oct 27, 2007 19:05 | #7 Thanks all for the comments. Sorry that I didnt reply sooner. 14 hour days in IT work are kicking my butt. I took a closer look at my batteries and remembered how the Digital Rebel and 30D batteries were different. The Rebel batteries were 1100 mAh and the 30D comes with 1390 mAh. I'm guessing that's not enough of a difference to cause any issues between chargers. 20droger Cream of the Crop 14,685 posts Likes: 27 Joined Dec 2006 More info | Get a small DC-AC power inverter and charge your batteries while you're traveling (I'm assuming by car). This one from the Shack works great for battery chargers and other small things.:
