If I were in your position, I'd buy the 30D and the 85 f/1.8 rather than the 40D alone (for less money too). Even though the 40D has added features, the 30D is a still great camera and can hold its own in terms of IQ, and it will allow you to take better advantage of the 85 F/1.8 and other fast lenses.

Sorry Goshawk, I misunderstand you:oops:.

To take the advantage of 85mm f1.8 I need at least a body like 30D? Is it I would be able to get the advantage of this superb lens if it fit into 300D body?
