Prayers my way if you will ..

You've got them, Deb.

Just heard to Mr. Whipple "Please don't squeeze the Charmin" has passed on, too.

She ..Martha did a great tribute to her on Tv .
Wow now that's a way to clean out your emotions ..lol
Andy's got Basil Cell cancer in his face so he will be having some more surgery .
He doesn't even know yet I got the call today so Prayers my way if you will ..

Very sorry to hear that about Andy. Thankfully you caught it early and should be treatable. This type of cancer is rarely life-threatening.

Terrible news Deb....I'll keep you and Andy in my prayers. As Cat mentioned, keep us informed of the surgery.

So sad... This must be the most depressing thread I've read in a long time.

That is sad, I think the die hards in the WF don't see how bad they really come across as, thinking they are somehow special. I agree they have specific needs and there is a uniquness in what they shoot, but that same thinking could be applied to many other types of photography too.

Deb, you and Andy have my thoughts with you, with hopes that all works out fine in the end. Having you for support already gives him an edge. :)

I really appreciate the sage advise and will keep this in mind throughout the wedding. I will let you guys know how it went after it happens.

I'm not exactly sage. It's just the kinds of shots that I like seeing when I'm going through other people's wedding shots.

I was told not to take my big camera (30D back then) to the last wedding we went to. In the end though, someone was being a bit of a pleb with a 350D (he probably thought he knew what he was doing but just looked a bit frightful).

I really love the work that's in the Wedding Forum, there's lots of really talented people in there.

I'm used to the fact that there's photos shared in there, and they're often easy to spot.

I'm not too sure what the big deal is here. I think this latest one if because of simple misunderstanding and a sprinkling of egos in respect to the involvment in the POTN book.

My view is that the WF is a great place, there's no need to spread it about. If people want a WF section in a future edition of the book, I don't see any reason why they should be forced into conforming to the "sharing" section of the web site in order to be included.

I don't think there is any problem taking a dSLR as a guest to a wedding, just be considerate and don't get in the pro's way, or stand behind him copying their shots. That is where Pete's ideas work good, you could catch lots of the stuff they would miss.

I don't think there's any problem with people taking their cameras to weddings either. Back then, though I didn't think I knew enough to be able to do that, plus I was there with Ali and it's unfair on her to be lugging about a big camera and go into "photo mode" when I should be enjoying the day.

Slightly ironic though that I was lugging around her handbag while she went off dancing....

Deb, prayers and thoughts to your Andy! Keep us posted.

We could perhaps solve the WF problem by not having one. ;) Let them make (and finance) their own forum. I'm sick of hearing about them, to be honest.

And on that grumpy note, I'm outta here for the day. Carry on! :)
