Question on EF-S 17-55 2.8 IS

Mine is loose between 17 and 20, and then is evenly tight the rest of the range.

Mine too is a bit tighter in the middle ranges.

But I got a similar feel from my son's 24-70 L. It happens where the movement transmission ratio changes.

Mine is mostly smooth across the entire range. It may loosen up just a hair at the ends. Have owned it a little more than 2 months.
