Ok I have a 40D and I am trying to decide what AF mode to use. Which one do you use and why?

Oops, that "AO servo AF" should have been "AI servo AF" Mods can you please change that for me.

I use "one shot" as I like to be able to MF after I AF sometimes....But when I'm tracking of course I use AI-Servo, I don't have AO servo and never heard of it but I do use AI focus when I'm shooting my kids sometimes....but mostly keep it in one shot mode

I would think that most people would want to be prepared and practiced to use any mode. The only one that has a not-so-good rep is AI Focus AF, in which you trust the camera to know when to switch between One Shot and AI Servo (Your AO Servo is a typo, I presume). Those who do macro, low light and other difficult lighting (low contrast) situations eventually must get to know Manual as well. So, what is your real question:)?

This is a silly poll. I doubt anyone here who knows how to use their camera uses only one of these modes.

AI Servo most of the time, unless I need to go to manual because the AF cant get it right. If I need "One Shot" I just press the AF-On button (or * button, depending on which body I'm using) briefly and then let go. I really don't see the need for or benefit of the One Shot or AI Focus modes.

As other people have said, it depends on what I'm shooting. I'm hardly going to use AI Servo for a stationery object... just like I wouldnt use One Shot for a moving object.

Can't say I've ever used AI Focus. Use all the other three depending on what I'm shooting

Sorry for being rude, but this is ridiculous. You are going to use af mode which gets most of votes??? So if One shot gets most of votes, because most of voters is shooting landscape, I should use it for sport? Or vice versa.
Each mode has its use, and you should decide which one to use based on particular thing you will be shooting not based on some useless poll.
PS: Once again... sorry for being rude.

Primoz is right, in that this is a pointless question for anyone other than a first-day-noobie.
