For all the talk about it, I love my 40D

Lots of talk about 40D here these last few months.

While it has been hotly debated, it's not a Mk III/5D/1Ds hybrid that will beat them all but it is a joy to use. Weather proofing would be very nice to have, but other than that I wouldn't change much.

The compactness and light weight is great. Shooting sports has been a lot of fun these last couple of weeks, and I'll be back for more. A Mark III might do better, but the size would give me wrist ache!

So, if you're after a mid range SLR, I'd say you won't do bad with a 40D!

I agree 100% There are a lot of "nay sayers" out there.. but the 40D is a GREAT camera.

I love mine I do a lot of macro/flowers with it.

LOL I know everyone compares it to the 5D...or wants to try too....its a different animal.....but a great camera....lots of folks having "problems" with their 40D....not me though...
