Does anyone have any experience with B & H and their policy of delivery (for international orders including Canada) only to your credit card 'billing' address? I am waiting for my first purchase from B & H to arrive via Post rather than courier as they would only send the package to my home as opposed to my office. No one is home during normal courier delivery hours so the courier option just wasn't viable for me. At least with the post office I will be able to go to the local outlet and pick up the package.

How do others deal with this? Has anyone been able to convince B & H to deliver to their work place? I have received many other packages at work with courier delivery. This is absolutely the best option for me. Even Adorama has sent a package to my work address rather than my billing address.

B & H has some great deals on right now so I would like to make a couple of additional purchases while the Canadian dollar is so strong.

I am expecting a delivery from B&H today by UPS expedited at my office in Ontario. I have provided them with both my credit card address and office address and they have had both on file for about a year. I am never home. It helps if you speak to them directly by phone. I have not had a problem.

Many retailers only ship to billing addresses. But you can also request a re-delivery attempt from the courier themselves to your office. That's after you miss the initial attempt and they leave you a notice at your billing address.

Thanks for the advice Cooper 911, I will call them and ask if I can make a special arrangement. I had hoped to send an e-mail but I have been unable to find an e-mail link on their web page (maybe I am just not seeing it).

A slightly less convenient method is to call and get them to hold the package at the depot and go pick it up there.

Bushplane Ken...my package arrived at 1:12pm...no problem. But you have to speak to them on the phone. The first time they sent shipment to my office, they called my office number right after I hung up just to confirm that It was me and I was there. It also helps if your Company or Office is named after you. They are really just trying to protect your credit card from abuse. Twitch1977's advice is good as well.

Don't get me wrong I appreciate the safeguards that B&H are using. I have exchanged e-mails with their customer service department and they suggested I call sales. I have done that and we seem to everything worked and the order is placed :D. The sales and verification staff I spoke with were very helpful and efficient. They called back as you noted Cooper 911.

Now I just have to sit back and wait for the brown truck to show up at work sometime next week! I am sure I can be patient .

Thanks again for the helpful comments. I'll update the forum when the package arrives.

The brown truck stopped by my office on Wednesday October 31st :D. The package arrived safe and sound. So now I have a couple of new lenses and some other small odds and ends. Delivery took at least one day longer than expected as the package was misdirected at one point; according to the UPS tracking website.

On the negative side I am still waiting :( for my first B&H order that I requested by sent by US Postal Service two weeks ago. It is a much smaller order but it will be good to get it; hopefully in the first couple of days of the coming week.

I will definitely call in any future orders to B&H to make special arrangements for shipping to my office.
