I agree in principal, but that doesn't tell us why it does change on another Mark III as stated in the OP.

Yeah but we don't know why some Mark IIIs can't autofocus on a barn either.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

FWIW, I get about 467 shots remaining (IIRC) on my Mark III with an empty 8GB card. I usually end up getting more than 550 shots on an 8GB card when filled, but the estimate always starts around 460...

ditto - I'm about the same

Probably because noise control on the 1D III blows the other current cameras away...and noise is a huge factor in file size thus frame count remaining.

Also, my XTi does this (although it's less obvious since the buffer is only up to 9...). So, still not getting to the issue at hand.

Anyone figure anything out about this? Any others having the same problem (Mark III or not). Anyone else with a Mark III not having this problem?

Alright, after some playing with CFns tonight trying to see what I had to do to get up to a burst of 30 rather than the displayed 22, I found that having ISO Safety Shift on was what was keeping the shot count from changing. Wow that was aggravating, but I'm glad I figured it out. So does that mean all you other 1D Mark III owners typically don't have ISO SS turned on?
