A co-worker and friend of mine asked me to take a couple shots of his daughters. This is a little different than the type of shooting that I normally do, so I'd like to hear any comments you may have. I know they aren't perfect or anything. How are the levels/colors?

Thanks

Edit: re-uploaded 1 and 2 with adjusted colors. Still not perfect, but better.

nice shots. good even lighting. but I think the older gal in the second photo seems a bit hidden by the leaves. maybe try and get a lower perspective on it next time. but nice job with everything.

I agree. I also dont really like the way the leaves frame her head. Lower persp. Is better. What exactly is it that you do for a job man?

I am Henry. NOT Hank. And certainly not a length of rope tied in a knot. ;)
My family calls me Hen, but you can call me Chicken. See you out there!

Leaves touching above head is a big no-no... otherwise everything is great :)

I like the photos, even with the leaves around the older young lady's head. The kids are cute, look great in the photos, and I can't help it but smile when I look at them. Both look so happy :)

If anything, try sharpening the two top photos just a tad to see how they look. Excellent job.

The 1st is gorgeous, IMO. I love the composition, colors and bokeh on this one.
Two and three complete a very nice package that your friend will love, guaranteed!

Thanks for the comments, I feel a bit more at ease now. I'll have to look through my shots and see if I have any like #2 where the leaves aren't in the way as much, but I'll try to be more mindful of things getting in the way next time. I was a little afraid to try a low perspective portrait shot, but in hindsight that might have been the thing to do.

...by the way, I'm a program manager (I manage contracts) at a place that sells helicopter repair kits. It's a small company, so those of us who've been there a few years know each other pretty well.

Well...more like maintenance kits actually...washers, o-rings, gaskets, things that need to be replaced periodically or after flying around in the desert for awhile.

Thanks, I do agree about the skin tones. I think the green may be over saturated a bit. I'll try pulling it back a little, possibly via a layer mask, and see how that looks.

That would be the 135L. I could have blurred the background quite a bit more, but I didn't want to take any chances shooting 2 subjects with a really narrow depth of field, so I stopped it down a bit.

1. 135L 1/250 f/5.6 ISO800
2. 135L 1/125 f/4 ISO500
3. 17-55 1/80 f/4 ISO200

Very nice. I agree that there seems to be a bit too much yellow/green on the girls. Warm them up slightly and I think you have it.
