Fires in San Diego were insane all week! The dark clouds behind the wave is an enormous smoke cloud that ate most of our beautiful city...
The waves were good though...

this is an interesting picture. Perspective is cool, thought I personally find the land on the left distracting. Try cropping?

Good job.

nice shot . the smoke creates an interesting backdrop...

Personally I like to sea a bit of land to give the shot an anchoring point. He looks like he has found some deserted beachie and is having the time of his life....

But.... as they about the eye of the beholder.....

cheers

A gorgeous shot with or without the smoke, well done mate. Those fires sound bad though!

dang, the Black Sea just doesnt have any breaks like home-sweet So-Cal! Sweet barrel shot! From my surfing experience (Orange County breaks) I think you cropped the shot wonderfully alot of waves, a little of the beach with some palm trees, i love it!

Yes the fires were crazy, and yes the waves were very good! I went out surfing tuesday afternoon and it was so crowded out it felt like a summer weekend! With all of the schools closed and a lot of people not going in to work, they were able to take advantage of the good surf. Where was this shot taken?

that is a great photo. great contrast as well. although the right side of the picture is kind of distracting because it looks like the wave was just cut off there. just my eyes im sure.. but i like this.

I actually said "wow" out loud when the photo loaded. I'm not sure exactly what it is - there are things in this shot that I think could be better - but I really really like this photo. Well done!
