Just got back from a weekly best buy run. They had the 30D for just over 1000. Its the store display. Good Deal? or is it like buying a old rental car. Shiny on the outside, but torn up under the hood?

It is a 30D with the canon 135.

Should i Buy it or save a few dollars more and go for the 40D?

You can't. Unless it had a lens attached, (and maybe even if it did), guaranteed it'll need a thorough cleaning before use.

Is that the 135, or the 28-135 it comes with?

I believe it the standard 28-135 that comes with the retail version of the camera.

If it is, that's around a $400 lens at B&H. You could easily sell it off if you have any other EOS gear now, to further reduce the cost. Do they include Canon's warranty? They should. And if you do go for it, this might be one to get the Best Buy protection plan in case a problem shows up in the near future.

Is the 40d worth the extra 400. I can get it for 1400 with the same lens that is on the 30D at best buy?
